Building Complete!

This blog was submitted by Ms. Sutchar from Chicago Collegiate Charter School.

The Chicago Collegiate 6th graders have completed building their inventions! This took a couple of trial and errors, but the students didn't back down. Their failures fueled them to keep building and learn from their mistakes.

Students learned that although a similar invention may have been created in the past, they could improve upon this idea in order to create an even better invention. This took persistent research and creative thinking!

This blog was submitted by Ms. Jones from Suder Montessori.

You could feel and see the excitement in the air as the students of Suder Montessori Magnet share their inventions with each other. Students from 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade were super excited as this was their first year that they got to show off their ideas!

A Blastoff to Innovation

This blog was submitted by Ms. Sutchar from Chicago Collegiate Charter School.

From rain getting into their sneakers to forgetting their lunch boxes at home, Chicago Collegiate students are amazed at the number of small problems they encounter on a daily basis. Over the past several weeks students have been brainstorming solutions to common problems they face in their every day lives. As a pride, they have collaborated to establish norms for brainstorming and the most efficient and respectful ways to build upon one another's ideas. They are ready for the challenge! This week scholars will choose a problem to solve for the Invention Convention. They're feeling challenged, and they're feeling excited! Let's see what our innovators have in store this week!
